چکیده

Cultivation of photosynthetic microorganisms in wastewater is a potential cost-effective method treating and simultaneously providing the essential nutrients for high-value biomass production. This study investigates cultivation cyanobacterium Arthrospira platensis non-diluted non-pretreated brewery under non-sterile alkaline growth conditions. The system’s performance terms productivity, pollutant consumption, pigment production composition was evaluated different media formulations (i.e., addition sodium chloride and/or bicarbonate) irradiation conditions continuous illumination 16:8 light:dark photoperiod). It observed that combination bicarbonate with resulted maximum recorded at end experiments, use photoperiod led to increased removal (up 90% initial concentrations) concentration (950 mg/L). microbial communities established during experiments also determined. heterotrophic bacteria dominated by phyla Pseudomonadota, Bacillota, Bacteroidota prevailed, while cyanobacteria population showcased dynamic behavior throughout as it towards (relative abundance 10% 30% application, respectively). Overall, platensis-based proved be an effective treatment, although large numbers limit usage produced applications such biofuel biofertilizer

Cultivation of Chlorella vulgaris and Arthrospira platensis with Recovered Phosphorus from Wastewater by Means of Zeolite Sorption

In this study, zeolite was employed for the separation and recovery of P from synthetic wastewater and its use as phosphorus (P) source for the cultivation of the green microalga Chlorella vulgaris and the cyanobacterium Arthrospira (Spirulina) platensis. At P-loaded zeolite concentration of 0.15-1 g/L, in which P was limited, the two species displayed quite different behavior regarding their g...

Influence of ammonium chloride feeding time and light intensity on the cultivation of Spirulina (Arthrospira) platensis.

This study dealt with the influence of both the feeding time and light intensity on the fed-batch culture of the cyanobacterium Spirulina (Arthrospira) platensis using ammonium chloride as a nitrogen source. For this purpose, a 2(2) plus star central composite experimental design combined with response surface methodology was employed, and the maximum cell concentration (X(m)), the cell product...

Protein production by Arthrospira (Spirulina) platensis in solid state cultivation using sugarcane bagasse as support

The genus Arthrospira comprises a group of filamentous multicellular cyanobacteria and can be used for animal feed and human food. Solid state fermentation or cultivation (SSF) involves the use of a culture medium composed of solid material with given moisture content. No studies have been published about the cultivation of microalgae or cyanobacteria on solid medium. Furthermore, although suga...
